WWE: Straight to the Top: The Money in the Bank Ladder Match Anthology

Climb The Ladder...Grab The Case...Become Champion!
It started off as a simple concept only to evolve into such a signature match for WrestleMania year after year to the point where it's not only one of the most anticipated PPV's each year but also something you keep in the back of your head as you anticipate when the winner will "cash in." This concept is called "Money In The Bank" which is a multi-man ladder match where the object to the grab the briefcase which contains a contract that allows you to the opportunity to have a WWE/World Championship match whenever you choose for up to a year & it's resulted in some of the best ladder matches in not just WWE but wrestling period along with the "cash in" leading to some memorable moments so here's the anthology of each single match up to this point in time.

Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Kane vs. Edge vs. Christian - This was the first ever Money In The Bank match where the object of the match is to grab the briefcase at the top that contains a...
MATCH LISTINGS AS OF JUNE 2013
FROM WWW.WRESTLINGDVDNEWS.COM ON JUNE 28TH, 2013:

"Yesterday the official synopsis for the WWE Money in the Bank Anthology DVD was released. Today we have some more details to add.

First, we can confirm that this will be a complete compilation of every Money in the Bank ladder match to date, which for those wondering does include the first ever match from WrestleMania 21 in 2005 which Chris Benoit competed in.

There is no confirmation right now as to whether or not matches from the upcoming Money in the Bank 2013 pay-per-view will make the set but it is extremely unlikely those will be omitted, especially since the DVD is billed an `Anthology' and released late in the year.

Also, we're now able to reveal that exclusive extras contained on the Blu-ray edition will include "cash-ins" of the Money in the Bank briefcase.

Below is a list of all Money in the Bank ladder matches up to the present day. The total bell-to-bell match time...

No "Hot Stuff Inc"?????
So I recall watching UWF as a kid and this being one of the last big territorial releases from WWE (still waiting on Memphis)I was really excited to get this. After getting it though, I was a bit disappointed in the lack of story or the fact that the documentary style I really love was absent here. Additionally, there was a lot missing.....no Eddie Gilbert and Hot Stuff Inc., no early Freebirds vs JYD, no really "this is the start" and "this is the end".....

It was really cool to see the matches and remember the program....but disappointed with the actual content......

WWE: Summerslam 2013 [Blu-ray]

The Best vs. The Beast; The Beard vs. The Champ
After last years disappointing "Summerslam," WWE rebounds nicely at this event. The the double main event feuds were very compelling in their own way and the under card was pretty solid as well. This event took me for an interesting ride.

United States Championship
Dean Ambrose (Champion) vs. RVD
While this wasn't as good as I hoped it would be, it continued the hot streak for WWE's pre-show matches. There was nothing spectacular about the match but these two looked fluid in the ring and Ambrose definitely held his own. This match was all apart of another story though, as Mark Henry & Big Show look to take on the other two members of the Shield, Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins. I'm looking forward to seeing what these two can do given more time and an actual finish. ***

Ring of Fire Match
Kane vs. Bray Wyatt
The fact that the this was the first Inferno (Ring of Fire) Match since 2006 made me very excited as a fan. I've loved the Wyatt Family and...
YES! YES! YE....RKO & GAME OVER!
A couple of notes here in the The Miz hosted this years event but kept having to deal with Fandango throughout the night & JoJo from "Total Divas" sang the National Anthem at the start of the show.

Ring Of Fire Match: Kane vs. Brad Wyat - This is the match that was formerly known as the "Inferno Match" where ringside is surrounded by fire to keep the participants inside & any other associates out except this match could end by pinfall or submission instead of setting the other on fire. The flames on the outside shot up high whenever a big move was delivered such as Kane's chokeslams & sidewalk slam or Wyat's running forearm while Wyat's associates on the outside kept attempting to get involved trying to toss in weapons or putting the fire out to no avail throughout the match. While the visual of the men wrestling around the flames was quite the sight, the match itself wasn't much but did it's job in establishing Brad Wyat.

Cody Rhodes vs. Damien Sandow - The...
WWE Summerslam 2013 review
The United States Championship match between Rob Van Dam & Dean Ambrose was an average match that never really kicked into gear. The Ring of Fire match between Kane & Bray Wyatt was not great but pretty good. The Cody Rhodes-Damien Shadow match was a fast-paced and good bout. The World's Heavyweight Championship match between Alberto Del Rio & Christian was a phenomenal example of old-school wrestling at its finest and the finish was a good example of in-ring psychology and continuously as one could imagine. The Natalya-Brie Bella match was unspectacular yet solid. The No-DQ match between Brock Lesnar & CM Punk was a hardcore,smash-mouth,vicious brawl. The Mixed Tag Team match between Dolph Ziggler & Kaitlyn against Big E Langston & AJ Lee was a fast-paced,interesting & entertaining bout. The WWE Championship match between John Cena & Daniel Bryan(With Triple H as the Guest Referee) was a phenomenal,back-and-forth bout. I give this PPV a 8 out of 10.

WWE: Payback 2013 [Blu-ray]

WWE Payback '13 BluRay Review
WWE Payback 2013
Chicago, IL

#1 Intercontiental championship match: Wade Barrett(c) vs. The Miz vs. Curtis Axel
Here we go, first match up on this Pay-Per-View.
Good way to start the show. Good work here, all men had a chance to shine. It is a shame that Wade Barrett isn't in the main event. But anyways. The ending was great! Curtis Axel covering Barrett while he was in the figure four. Was a great heel way for Axel to win, and Chicago ate it up. Winner and new Intercontiental champion, Curtis Axel. 3/5 stars

#2 Divas championship match: Kaitlyn(c) vs. AJ Lee
Wow. An entertaining divas match, I sure am liking this rivalry with AJ and Kaitlyn. Her spears are beautiful. Good match up here. Love AJ's submission move. Winner by submission and new Divas champion, AJ Lee. 2.5/5 stars

#3 United States championship match: Dean Ambrose(c) vs. Kane
A decent match up here. Really not much to say here, favorite spot was when Ambrose went...
The Inaugural Payback.... Success!!
First things first, don't pre-order this or wait till October. It's already out at Best Buy as this blu-ray is a Best Buy Exclusive. Get it now.

Payback replaced the pay-per-view "No Way Out" this year. I think we can all agree that last year's No Way Out return was awful.

Now, Payback took place in Chicago, Illinois, one of the best WWE cities and they did not disappoint again.

1. Intercontinental Championship:
Wade Barrett (c) vs. Curtis Axel (W/ Paul Heyman) vs. The Miz
Curtis Axel replaced Fandango for the match as Fandango suffered a concussion weeks before the event. This was a good opener as all three men got to showcase their talent and had their moments. The Miz took a beating from both men and came back strong against Axel & Barrett. The match, going to 10 1/2 minutes was a good start to the event. The crowd was hot and actually going for Curtis Axel. The ending was pretty unique in a way, as I've never seen something like...

GOLDBERG, GOLDBERG, GOLDBERG!!
Goldberg made me start watching wrestling in 98. I had watched when I was a kid and eventually stopped because it was just not realistic. Until a friend at work back in 98 said you have to tune in and see Goldberg! I did and was hooked, his intensity, entrance, strength and his fighting techniques he exhibited during matches made you stop to ask yourself "did he just run that guy over with that spear for real?"
I also got to meet him in Miami for a book signing of his book titled Who's Next?, it was great to meet him! It is about time a DVD of Goldberg is available. I always wanted to have one for my collection! Maybe we will see him in action in WWE again, he can still do everything at 47 years old! Atleast we have him in WWE2k14 & on Blue Ray, another run would be awesome! If anyone should end Takers' streak it should be Goldberg! Perhaps a match against Austin and a Brock rematch!

Thy Kingdom Come - Content and Match Listing
Beware The Skull King, he is the vision behind you, beside you, leading you to damnation. The evolution of Paul "Triple H" Levesque has been a riveting journey. Years of hard work, dedication and sacrifice opened the door to achieving his dreams, but his rise to power was not without a fair share of challenges.

The Game had to shed his blue blood image before rallying an army of fellow Degenerates and ultimately becoming the King of Kings. He deflected the criticism and forged ahead when he became part of the McMahon WWE Dynasty to embrace his executive role as WWE Chief Operating Officer. For Triple H, thy kingdom has truly come.

Best HHH DVD out there!
When WWE released HHH's DVD "The King of Kings" I was SO DISAPPOINTED. All it was really was some of his best matches with him briefly talking about stuff in between the matches. This DVD "Thy Kingdom Come" is just like Stone Cold Steve Austin's "And that's the bottom Line" DVD in that it goes behind the scenes and shows you his personal life and what things are like for him when the cameras go off. This DVD is amazing if you're a HHH fan or WWE fan in general. Honestly I'll say it's easily right up there with Stone Cold's DVD. It does include some of his best matches, but it's good that they're separate from the life story of HHH. IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME!

WWE: Straight to the Top: The Money in the Bank Ladder Match Anthology [Blu-ray]

Straight to the Top - Content and Match Listing
Hosted by The Miz, the compilation features every Money in the Bank Ladder Match in history. The match debuted at WrestleMania 21 in 2005, quickly becoming a WrestleMania tradition and in 2010 proved so popular that it was given its own annual PPV event. Several top Superstars have been Money in the Bank winners including John Cena, Kane, Edge, CM Punk (twice!), Rob Van Dam and many more. 11 of the first 12 winners have used the match as a springboard to winning a championship, and several times the match has helped a Superstar who has never win a World Championship break through to claim their first. Much like the Royal Rumble Match, the Money in the Bank match represents a golden opportunity for a Superstar to achieve immortality, and its entire lineage is presented here.
