Divergence Eve: Complete Collection

Not what I was expecting
Before I start my review let me say that I picked up Divergence Eve hoping to add a nice fan-service anime to my library. This was because the series has been hammered due to its extremely well endowed female leads. To be hoenst the only series I know of with women that are even in the same league being Eiken an eihii series. I thought I knew what I was in for when I popped in the first disc. Mainly being a show more concerned about showing panties and cleavage then story line and such. However I was pleasantly surprised. Divergence Eve is actually a really good series.

One last thing before my actual review. Divergence Eve outside of jiggle shots, which there is no opportunity lost for, it only has the normal amount of fan fair. Meaning on two or three shots of a character naked and maybe one or two pantie and braw shots. In fact doesn't take a few chances for fan fair.

And finally my review. Yes I know it took me awhile. firts and most importantly Divergence...
4 stars for story, but minus 1 for no extras!
I rented the original release of Volume 1 of Divergence Eve from an online service, and even though the disc was defective (preventing me from watching the second half of Episode 3 and all of Episode 4), what I was able to see entertained and intrigued me enough to want to spring for the "Collection" when it was released.

Unfortunately, this is not the complete collection. Yes, all 14 episodes are here - but nothing else! Instead of simply duplicating the original discs for this release, ADV actually took the trouble of pressing new discs that don't include any of the bonus materials! No clean opening and closing animation, no audio commentary, no mini-manga, nothing but the episodes themselves. Sure, it's more economical to buy this set than the three original individual volumes, but it still boggles my mind that ADV went to the trouble (and expense!) of removing the extras from the "Collection".

As for the story itself: it's "hard" sci-fi (by which I don't mean...
Outdated Anime
First I need to tell you that the ending will leave you hanging. You should not view this as a stand alone series, but as Part I; the Misaki Chronicles Misaki Chronicles: Complete Collection'being part II.

Divergence Eve is based on the idea that if you have good computer graphics and plenty of over-endowed women, no one will notice if the plot is weak. Unfortunately the graphics are no longer cutting edge and the giant foot-ball shaped breasts are more comical than sexy.

The plot is slow moving. For some reason they stuck the second to the last episode first, presumably to give the show some action early on. The overall effect is to leave the viewer confused half of the time and the other half bored with the dramatic 'revelations' which were spoiled by the first episode. Even as such the plot draws you in, but the series simply ends with no resolution and with unresolved issues...

Yumeria: Complete Collection

Life Sucks, Then You Dream
Yumeria is a 12 episode (300+ minutes) series that follows Tomokazu Mikori, your basic loser who admits that he is a pervert. On his 16th birthday, he falls asleep, only to enter a world where he meets Mone, a young girl who will alter past and future events. It is now up to Tomokazu to save those he cares about from the Faydoom, evil creations in the dream world that are trying to invade the waking world. If he fails, all will be lost and the future devastated. Whats a 16 year old, perverted-loser to do?

The series was pretty good and I found that the trailor that I viewed before I bought it didn't do the series justice. Yes, Tomokazu is a pervert in the series, but not to the extent that the trailor put him as, being as some people understandably don't like perverts. The story also reminded me somewhat of the Matrix in that it spans two worlds, where an event in one will affect the other. This is also one of those series where you have to watch in order to understand...
Plenty of Fan Service
Meet Tomokazu Mikuri, an average everyday boy leading an average everyday dull life. Then his 16th birthday comes and is yet another dull day in his life, but when he goes to sleep, he finds himself in a strange world. After looking around, he sees a giant monster and a little girl with wings doing battle with one another. The girl falls from the sky and Tomokazu saves her and using a power (that's currently unknown to him) recharges the girl so she can defeat the monster.

Upon waking, the girl from his dream is laying in bed with him. Tomokazu has inherited a special power, and that power is to save the everyday world and the dream world from fierce monsters made from the dark thoughts and feelings of people; bent on destroying both worlds. Tomokazu with Mone (the girl from his dreams) as well as childhood friend Mizuki, Kuyou, Neneko/Neito, Megumi, and a mysterious person known as Silk to defend both worlds from destruction. But they can only defend both worlds...
Mone Monene Mone...
I won't repeat the storyline. The animation is good and the characterization is as well. (Even if a little generic). Worth watching in either the dubbed or the subtitled version. Dubbing is very good, keeping the spirit and humor of the series. I'll say it's not spectacular, but it is above average. Voice acting is excellent, especially "Mone" who manages to convey her meaning throughout the series with only the word mone as dialog. It was worth the price.

Gatchaman Complete Collection

FINALLY!!
For this who don't know, this is indeed the uncut, dubbed (and subbed) version that ADV Films released a few years back. If you watched this show as a kid, you probably remember it as Battle of the Planets or G-Force. This is your chance to view it in it's un-altered, un-cut state. Truly a masterpiece worth collecting.
Anyone know?
Does anyone know if these are going to be in English or just subtitled in English? Hope so look forward to seek them
Thank you Section 23!
I do not have this item, but I am giving it 5 stars because I have been eagerly anticipating this release for some time now. I never got to purchase the ADV dvd releases from several years back, but the fact that this series is not only being re-issued on DVD but on Blu-Ray as well, simply makes my mouth water. I don't know anything about this particular distributor. I've never heard of them, but I'm going to assume that this will be all 105 episodes and I'm going to assume that they will do a bang-up job on them. With the announcement of a live action Battle of the Planets movie being released in Japan on August 24, 2013, I'm hopeful that a distributor somewhere will finally release Battle of the Planets: The Complete Collection (85 episodes) on DVD and perhaps Blu-Ray here in the U.S. soon. I know that it's available over in the U.K. as Region 2 DVD, but I'm talking about Region 1 for the U.S. and Canada. I have the 25th Anniversary Set that Rhino released back in 2004. Once again,...

Golgo 13: Complete Collection

Review based on Price??? C'mon people!
So your upset about the price so you are going to give this amazing show a 1 or 2 star rating. Don't rate the damn price people. Besides the price Amazon has listed is way above everyone else out there and when it's released I'm sure they will drop the price when they aren't moving any sets. I can't mention other stores here by name or else Amazon will delete or edit the post...so I will just say other online stores that DEEPly DISCOUNT DVD's have the Pre Order Blu Ray set for around 75 and DVD set for under 60 (which I already did)...not bad for 50 shows plus extras. So you want to rate the show or direction, the extras, hell you don't like the cover art, or you got a paper cut opening it and the packaging made you cry then fine...but if you are going to rate something on price grow up. The new Corvette is expensive so it must suck right???...and everything in the dollar store is first rate? Really?? I have some tape from them that wouldn't stick to tar in the summer. Things are...
Instead of selling them separately, They now got Whole Set!
Since I already got them all when they were selling them separately year ago, Collection 1, 2, 3, and 4. But this time they're selling the whole set for $98.00 Dollar just the DVD (non-blueray disc), but if you want Blue-ray Disc it'll be $115.00 dollar. The entire set won't come out till Sept 17th 2013 I believe.

If Money isn't the issue, than I would get Blue-ray Disc. I noticed someone complains about the price on Blue-ray disc, he'll want to get DVD one the $98.00 dollar one instead. I think its reasonable price.. Because back than it cost me nearly $45.00 dollar just for each Collection.. so 4 Collection times $45.00 = $180.00.

See the huge difference on the price before, and now with entire set DVD is merely $98.00 dollar, but Blue-Ray disc is $115.00.

I'm thinking about getting Blue-Ray disc, not on release am thinking about getting it in Dec this year. Golgo 13 is a excellent series, I couldn't stop watching it after few time. >.<
Buy it for $68.98 on Ebay
This set is really awesome. :) Going to leave more of a review when I finish all of the episodes.
I changed my review from a 1 star to a 5 star because of the better price I found it for.

Queen's Blade Rebellion: Complete Collection

Queen's Blade:Rebellion
If you thought the original Queen's Blade series could not be topped, you will be delightfully surprised at this, the third "season". Claudette, the Thunder General and the oldest sister,is queen. She has abolished both the nobilities and the Queen's Blade tournaments and declared herself the eternal queen.Rebellions are rising and new heroines are introduced.
There is Yuit,an elf and editor-in-chief of a newspaper and her constant companion,a "female" robotatic warrior named Vante that wears pink panties and has serious real-looking hooters,
Liliana, the bodacious female pirate captain of a flying square-rigger,
Mirim,an innocent,sweet-hearted and hard working teenager that is impressed into servitude by the Iron Strategist for Claudette,
Ymir, who was the Iron Mountain Dwarf in the previous series but is now the Iron Strategist and one of the central characters of this series,
The Ragged Warrior, this series heroine who is the last of the Kreutz nobility;...
i try my best to enjoy bad anime.
The first Queen's Blade series is a silly joke of an anime meshing together seemingly incompatible character designs for a product that was at its best barely watchable. With the release of the second season, it became evident that the joke had been taken too far. The creators sat down and fleshed out a surprisingly deep background story for this paltry smut. Why would anyone take the time to try and pull anything compelling out of softcore porn? But that's why I love Japan.

My curiosity was piqued when I learned that Claudette had become the queen, and not Leina. To my dismay, the female lead this time was not Leina Vance, but a new character by the name of Annelotte. Although I hated the idea of an entirely new cast of characters, I found Annelotte to be surprisingly amiable. Whereas Leina failed as a protagonist for the first thirteen episodes, Annelotte begins her story more favorably. Initially, she is a weak noble heir on the run, evading assassins and hiding her...

Campione Complete Collection [Blu-ray]

Divine Hijinks
Poor Goduu - all he wanted was to return a stone tablet to a friend of his now deceased grandfather - however things get complicated when he gets caught up in a duel with two powerful gods and ends up becoming a Campione - one who has killed a god and gained the Authority of said diety. Now he has returned to japan with a beautiful blonde knight, Erica in order to protect the country and keep other gods from destroying the world. But how is he to do this when other Campiones are trying to muscle in on his territory, rogue gods appear, and do not forget the group of lovely ladies who wish to help and train him - not to mention get closer to him. But can Godu be able to keep his divine promises, or will he be sidetracked with all the distractions that Erica and the others can provide to him.

I just finished this and will get it soon. A entertaining action harem comedy filled with lovely ladies, explosions, divine battles, and a lot of soul searching. It is a must to have...
god slayer
Campione follows the aventures of godou, a high school student who inadvertently stole the powers of a god. Now his daily life has been made more complicated not only by gods who want to kill him but by rival god slayers. He's not alone however as he's companied buy a harem of voluptuous warrior maidens who via for his affection.

From a fan point of view, campione is one of the best animes to come out in a while. The stories entertaining, the characters are memorable, and the battle scenes are epic and very cinematic. It is a crime this anime didn't get more than just one season. I had also wish to spend money went to Funimation instead of sentai Filmworks, as sentai tends to price there merchandise a bit high. Despite that I'm still going to buy it, and would recommend this anime to anyone.
Loved it in subbed
This is truly interesting. Though I've merely watched the subbed version, I would highly recommend getting the dubbed version too. And watching it over and over again.

Kokoro Connect: TV Collection

Description Misleading. READ THIS FOR TRUE DESCRIPTION!
Kokoro Connect is a series that is a total buy and should definitely be a part of your anime collection. Following the members of the Cultural Research Club, the ties of friendship are put to the ultimate test as secrets become known and viewpoints become jumbled by way of phenomenon such as switching bodies and sharing emotions brought upon by an entity known as Heartseed. Will they be able to overcome the obstacles brought upon them or will their friendship break under the weight of newly revealed feelings and thoughts?

I watched this series already and I can tell you that this is one of the best I've seen in awhile. Consisting of 4 arcs each with their own problem and phenomenon, these 5 friends are truly put to the test of their connection to each other. Every single character gets a full backstory and time to shine and develop all the way throughout. Music all around is done very well, with a separate ending song for every arc giving a feeling of adjoining to the one...
Swap with me?
Taichi, Iori, Himeko, Yoshifumi, and Yui are all completely normal high school students, until one day when they all start switching bodies. The switches can happen at any of day, last different amounts of time, and only occur within their little group. After the initial shock, they start trying to just make it through each day without raising suspicion. Then, as suddenly as it started, it stops. Only something else strange has taken its place...

When I initially heard about this series I wasn't the slightest bit interested. I thought it would be filled with awkward/stupid scenes of guys and girls switching bodies. But while there is the awkwardness of guys ending up in their cute female classmates' bodies, it is reasonably handled and then they move on. The thing about this series is that it isn't about the body switching, it is about how the characters handle the body switching and other strange events that happen. The character behind the strangeness seems to be testing...
Excellent series... but NOT complete set
We all wear a mask. Everyday we put on our mask as we walk out the door for fear that people will see who we truly are. We often wear different masks around different people, because we want various people to perceive us in various ways. We even lie to ourselves pretending that we are more good, more wise, more strong, more happy, more beautiful, or more brave than we really are. For most people, the only fear greater than knowing who we truly are, is the horror that others might realize who we truly are as well.

Kokoro Connect is an excellent series. It allows the viewer to truly feel the fear of their inner being laid bare for others to see. In each of 4 arcs, a god causes some sort of phenomenon to occur to the 5 characters that allows--and forces--them to see parts of each other's lives which they would normally keep hidden. For example in the first arc, the god causes the 5 to switch bodies with each other at random times. Thus these five friends, who have...

High School of the Dead Ova: Drifters of the Dead [Blu-ray]

An entertaining - yet strange story
The group finds themselves on a tropical island, seemingly free from the outbreak. AS the gang enjoys some time that does not involve killing zombies or fighting to survive, it is when they set a fire of some leaves that things get "interesting". Can they snap out of it before something bad happens?

This story does not really have a place between the first and soon to be coming second season, but it is a good escape from the horror that they have had to endure so far. A good hold over until they bring the new season over and we learn the fates of this group and the world they reside in.
Note the running time
While I thoroughly enjoyed High School of the Dead, and highly recommend it on Blu Ray if you are into fan service heavy, zombie, action anime, this tiny episode should have been included as a bonus feature on that set and not as its own full release. 16 minutes? Really?

I've seen the episode they are putting on there. While it is a fun, enjoyable episode, I really can't recommend paying $9 for it. Your choice though, just be aware of what you are getting.
HOTD OVA
While our favorite band of survivors from the series does make an appearance in the OVA (they don on swimsuits too and scour a somewhat marooned island) the storyline here has little relevance to the Highschool of the Dead main story. I'm not going to give any details out, but you can expect a heaping helping of ecchi, though there isn't really any "full" nudity (and thus no censors).

Personally (and I repeat, PERSONALLY) I found the OVA to be tedious and a little boring compared to the main story frame. Basically ridiculous actions lead to ridiculous delusions which in turn lead to ridiculous ecchi scenes. Again, no connection to the brain bashing, zombie milling storyline in the prior 12 episodes.

I'd say, take a miss with this. Nine bucks just isnt worth it. Not sure why the OVA would be sold by itself, let alone who is going to pick it up by itself.... Unless the cover art appeals to you as a collectors item (as of current Amazon.com doesn't display,...
